LaceFlex™ is our material system for leotards. It brings together decorative stretch lace, recycled mesh and Lycra so the garment can move closely with the body while retaining flexibility and support.
Q: What is FLA Balletique™?
FLA Balletique™ is our natural-fibre material system for warm-up wear, combining Merino wool, Mulberry silk and organic cotton. It is 4x more breathable than standard synthetic dancewear and eliminates chafing. It produces zero chafing or marks and is the only fabric of its kind designed specifically for the demands of ballet practice and performance.
Q: Are FLA Ballet products made with sustainability in mind?
Yes. LaceFlex™ leotards use recycled mesh alongside stretch lace and Lycra, while FLA Balletique™ warm-up wear uses natural, renewable fibres. We work with UK-based raw-material suppliers and local producers where possible, and all packaging is 100% biodegradable.
Q: Is the Cinnamon colourway sheer?
Due to the natural fibre composition of FLA Balletique™, the Cinnamon colourway has a lighter, more delicate hand than darker shades and can appear somewhat sheer depending on the light. Many dancers choose to wear a nude undergarment beneath it. The Black colourway is fully opaque. FLA Ballet is transparent about this characteristic and recommends customers contact the team before ordering if they have questions about specific colourways.
Q: How does FLA Ballet sizing work? Your sizes seem small.
FLA Ballet leotards are cut for a close performance fit. LaceFlex™ combines stretch lace, recycled mesh and Lycra so the garment can move closely with the body. In practice, this means the garment feels compact off the hanger but conforms precisely once worn, with far less compression than a standard leotard of the same labelled size.
