A more considered approach to ballet essentials

Sustainability is not a single material or claim. For FLA Ballet, it means making more considered choices across materials, construction, packaging and the useful life of each product.

Choosing materials for their purpose

We do not use one material story across every product. Our current warm-up wear uses wool and silk where natural fibres support warmth and breathability. LaceFlex™ leotards combine stretch lace, recycled mesh and Lycra where flexibility, airflow and recovery are required.

Our ballet shoes combine textile uppers, genuine leather contact pads and cushioning components according to the performance needs of each design.

Natural-fibre warm-up wear

FLA Balletique™ is our natural-fibre approach to ballet warm-up wear. Wool provides warmth and breathability, while silk adds softness and a lighter feel. These materials are used where they suit the way the product is worn: before class, during warm-ups and after training.

Recycled materials where they make sense

Our LaceFlex™ leotards and FLA Aero™ ballet shoes use recycled mesh in selected areas. We use it where a lighter, more breathable structure is useful, rather than treating recycled content as a complete answer on its own.

Packaging

We reduce unnecessary packaging and choose lower-impact materials wherever practical. We continue reviewing individual components, including bags, labels and protective packaging, rather than making a blanket claim about every part of the parcel.

Designed to be used

A product only reduces waste if it is useful, cared for and worn over time. We focus on fit, comfort and appropriate material choices, and we provide care guidance to help customers look after their products.

What we are still improving

We are a growing brand and our work is ongoing. We are continuing to review material sourcing, production distances, packaging components and product durability. As our evidence develops, we will update this page with clear, specific information.
